Blue Lagoon is a popular summer cocktail featuring blue Curaçao. One variation adds a dash of lime cordial to the mix. Also known to Benjamin Penney as a 'Fruit tingle' after the candy available in some countries. Expert Master Mixologist David Herpin writes in the Dallas Examiner's "The Blue Lagoon" Article: "This drink is no stranger to confusion, once again, but much later Harry's New York Bar in Paris is trying to claim another classic cocktail. They would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for that meddling cocktail historian. An early printing of this drink is found here: New society in 1980 "At the bar, Betty is standing — in the manner of Lauren Bacall in The Long Goodbye — sipping a Blue Lagoon" Here is an early reference to the purported story: The Best of Paris by Henri Gault, Christian Millau in 1982 "Today customers can choose a drink from Andy's selection of 168 brands of whiskey or from his wide variety of cocktails. Bloody Marys were "coined" here in 1921. Andy himself came up with Blue Lagoon in 1972." There is not much supporting evidence and Mr. Boston themselves didn't print this until "Mr. Boston official bartender's guide" by Elin McCoy, John Frederick Walker in 1988.
